Margaret died on 4 September 1952 at Williamstown, possibly while Bill’s railway posting was in this Melbourne  suburb. She was just 66 years of age.

In later years, Bill was the Station Master at Box Hill, Melbourne. He lived to the ripe old age of 88 years and died on 12 August 1976 in Parkville. Bill and Margaret had two children:-

Christine Cathleen Brody

Chrissie Brody, a twin sister to Joseph, was devoted to music, and she was extremely talented on the piano. She studied hard to gain formal music qualifications, and became a music teacher. Chrissie  shared the house at 8 Peers Street North Carlton with her brother John and sister Molly, and never married. She was a very popular member of the Brody family, and it was a great shock to them when she was taken from them at the young age of 29.
