Patrick John Whelan b.1855

Patrick was born in Yan Yean. As he later became a clerk, Patrick must have done well in school. He did not marry, and passed away on 5th February 1885, aged just 30 years.

According to his death certificate, Patrick died of ‘Phthisis Pulmonalis’ (Tuberculosis) after a 9 month illness.  He was buried in the Melbourne General Cemetery two days later, and lies in the Whelan family grave.
