Flossie married at St Patrick’s Church in Lawrence on 19 January 1897 to Thomas Ryan, who according to a family story, always called her “Mam”. Her niece Cella (Garty) described Flossie as “just lovely”, her granddaughter, Joan (Kane) recalls that their family always referred to her as “Auntie Tom”.
They made their home in Waitahuna, raising five children, before moving to Gore.
Flossie died in Gore on 30 April 1945 and her husband Tom passed away eight years later in 1953.
Tom and Flossie Ryan had four girls and then a little boy:-
Johanna Margarita Veronica Ryan (Rita Ryan), born 7 Dec 1897, became Rita Lynch.
Florence Mary Ryan (Flossie Ryan), born 3 Nov 1899, didn't marry, passed away at Gore on 20 November 1952.
Honor Alice Ryan (Alice Ryan), born 2 Aug 1900, remained unmarried and died in Gore on 27 June 1975.
Lilian Frances Ryan (Lily), born 10 Jun 1902. Died at the early age of 45 on 3 November 1947
Martin Thomas Ryan (Tom), born 5 Feb 1904, married Isobelle Hughes.
Rita married Joseph Reginald Lynch at Milton on 25 February 1925. They settled there and in the next 15 years went on to have no less than eleven children. Rita was aged just 56 when she passed away on 22 May 1954.

Paula Alice Lynch, born c1927, died when a child in 1932.
Margaret Lynch, born 1928, became Margaret Barnes, then Margaret McKechnie.
Joseph Thomas Lynch (Joe Lynch) born 1930, married Elnore Penman.
James Desmond (Jim), born c1931, married Teresa McMahon.

Gerald Brian Lynch, born c1935, married Kathleen Mary Clark.
Patrick Francis Lynch (Pat), born c1936, married Margaret Hickey.
Catherine Mary Lynch, born c1938, became Catherine Davies.
Pauline Denise Lynch, born c1940, became Pauline Gallagher.
Philip Michael Lynch, born c1940, married Veronica Egan.
Martin Thomas Ryan (Tom)
Tom Ryan married Isobelle Hughes (Belle). This couple settled in Gore, and had three children. Tom passed away in 1989 at Dunedin.
Tom and Belle Ryan had the following children:-
Lorna Isobel Ryan, born 1929, became Lorna Peterson.
June Ryan, born 1932, became June Watson.
Bernice Ryan, born 1935 at Gore, became Bernice Berland.
