Francis Whelan was living in the town of Donald, Victoria, around 1912, when at the age of 34 he married Caroline Preskett.
Donald lies 280 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, and is a rural town servicing a vast wheat-growing belt.
Francis died on 21st December 1933 in Donald, at age 55.
Francis and Caroline Whelan had six children in all, although their first baby died in infancy:-.

The only person we have been able to trace further is Ivy May.
When she was 20 years of age Ivy May Whelan married James William Stanley Rogan. That was on 19th September 1934, at St. George’s Church (Church of England), Donald. James was also 20, a labourer from Maryborough, and son of Michael Samuel Rogan and Rosabella Mary Rogan (maiden name not clear). Witnesses to their ceremony were M.S. Rogan and M.S.C. Rogan.
